My biggest concern in terms of facial volume has been my nasolabial folds. I’ve always had fairly prominent lines even as a teenager, and as I’ve gotten older they’ve only gotten more pronounced.
The Procedure
I received 2ml of Bellafill (1ml at a time over about two years). Bellafill is supposed to be a permanent/semi-permanent solution because it stimulates your own collagen growth as your body absorbs the filler molecules. I’ve read that your body should ultimately create more collagen than the volume of the originally injected filler, but it should definitely last at least 5ish years.
My doctor injected the filler along my cheekbones, not literally in my cheeks, to pull my whole face up.
I wasn’t super concerned about a little bit of migration because just general volume around my cheeks would be an improvement, so even if it spread a little I thought it would still look fine. I waited until the doctor’s office had specials and paid about $850/unit, so about $1700 combined over two visits that were about a year apart.
I’ve never tried any other type of filler in my cheeks, because I feel like if I’m going to spend the money I should get something that will last as long as possible.
I saw a change immediately due to the filler, and over time the effect has increased.
Cost: About $1750 for 2ml
Worth it? Yes! Bellafill is expensive, but for filler that lasts multiple years I think it’s definitely worth it.
